River Tawe Trout Stocking

As the Pontardawe and Swansea Angling Association (PASAS) continues its commitment to enhancing the River Tawe through sustainable stocking efforts, we would like to remind anglers that membership is still available for this season. Available via the membership page and with fishing tackle at H.R. Jones, Clydach.

Due to weather conditions, the stocking has been spread over two days to minimize stress on the fish during transit.
The first phase took place on May 21st, with trout introduced at locations below Ynysmeudwy, Pontardawe, and Trebanos. The final phase is set to conclude tomorrow, June 5th 2025, beginning at Clydach Square, then moving downstream to the Millers Arms (Ynystawe), and finally near Ynystanglws Bridge.

The River Tawe is a well-known angling destination in South Wales, offering excellent opportunities to fish for wild and stocked trout. The efforts help maintain a healthy fish population, ensuring an enjoyable experience for anglers fishing near Pontardawe, Clydach and Swansea while also contributing to the broader environmental stability of the river.
The Pontardawe and Swansea Angling Society has long been committed to responsible fisheries management and conservation. This latest trout stocking effort underscores its dedication to protecting the River Tawe’s biodiversity and maintaining a balanced aquatic environment for years to come.
